World Record Smallmouth Bass

DALE HOLLOW LAKE is world famous for BIG SMALLMOUTH BASS. Why not bring some friends and try your luck? That’s what Paul Beal of Noblesville, Indiana was doing April 14th a few seasons ago, when he landed a haug of a smallmouth weighin’ a whoppin’ 10 lbs. 8 oz. He’s been awarded the world record catch on 8 lb. Test line. Beal and his group of six fishermen were enjoyin’ the "Catch of the Season" Fishin’ Special at the time. When ya’ talk ‘bout fish, like BIG FISH, there’s more here than "them ol’ brown fish" Billy Westmoreland was always talkin’ ‘bout. There are large mouth, Kentucky and white bass and don’t forget the evasive monster Muskie (State Record 43 lb. and 53",

caught here during ‘78 by a wiry ol’ Kentuckian named Porter Hash).   Stop by the store where you can see this State Record!

We’ve seen big walleye and 18 pounders at that.  Maybe you’re into fly fishin’ with a popper bug for scrappy bluegills, or love to kick back with a cane pole, bobber and a bucket of minnies for black or white crappie. Don’t forget the rainbow trout, they can be awesome, too. You can troll, cast, lantern fish at night or just plain ol’lazy still fish, what ever turns your crank. On one of our houseboats even Mom will go fishin’ for crappie or white bass with lanterns. It’s always fun for the whole family. And always remember, we guarantee you’ll catch fish...if you stay long enough.
